Bloodborne Pathogens Training

Bloodborne Pathogens
Training for your staff at your Facility

OSHA requires annual training regarding

Bloodborne Pathogens and (Standard) Precautions

If your workers are at risk of injury and open wounds where they may be exposed to potentially infectious blood or bodily fluids they need to be prepared to use precaution and avoid the risk of spreading diseases.

Our Bloodborne Pathogens Training Program provides the information every employee with an identified risk of occupational exposure needs to know; How to avoid accidental exposure to blood and other potentially infections materials and to manage an accidental exposure if one occurs.

Our Bloodborne Pathogens training takes less than 2 hours of time to conduct. We cover the following topics:

Specific Bloodborne Pathogens
How Infection Occurs
Transmitting Bloodborne Pathogens
Your Employer's Exposure Control Plan
Recognizing the Potential for Exposure
Methods to Control the Risks of Exposure
Hepatitis B Immunization
If an Exposure Occurs
Housekeeping
Using Personal Protecti9on Equipment (PPE)
Communicating Hazards in the Workplace

Exposure determination is based on identifying employees who may reasonably be exposed to blood, bodily fluids or other potentially infectious materials occupationally.

This program will cover all employees who are not trained as part of their job duties, but who need to know because of the chance of bloodborne pathogens being released in the workplace.

This program will also cover employees whose job duties involve exposure to blood or bodily fluids.

OSHA Standard # 1910-1030 Bloodborne Pathogens states: "Bloodborne Pathogens means pathogenic microorganisms that are present in the human blood and can cause disease in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, hepatitis B virus (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)."

Here is a list of employees who likely have occupational exposure potential:

First Aid Providers
Housekeeping staff
Lab Workers

Firefighters
Tattoo and Body Modification Artists
EMTs and Paramedics
Security Personnel
